What’s New in 2025?

The 2025 Ram truck lineup offers some significant changes and upgrades. The Ram 1500 has a twin-turbocharged I-6 engine instead of the previous HEMI V-8. There are also some significant styling changes, such as a more modern exterior, additional lighting elements, and a fresh color pallet. The 1500 features various tech upgrades, such as a larger infotainment system and the ability to add an extra passenger-side screen. The Ram 2500 and 3500 also feature updated materials, improved technologies, and new interior color options.

Engines and Towing Capacity

The light-duty Ram 1500 features a base 305-horsepower V-6 engine with mild-hybrid assistance, while the new twin-turbo Hurricane I-6 delivers up to 540 horsepower. This engine provides exceptional refinement and performance.

The 2025 Ram HD lineup includes the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500. These models offer a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 that delivers 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque or a high-output Cummins diesel 6.7-liter I-6 that produces 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The Cummins engine is now available throughout the HD truck range rather than just the 3500 models. You can also expect better fuel efficiency than in previous years, thanks to the new TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission and 3.42 rear-axle ratio.

With the right setup, you’ll be able to tow up to 36,610 pounds with the 2025 Ram HD. With this towing capacity you can haul heavy-duty loads like large fifth-wheel campers, multi-car trailers, construction equipment (excavators, bulldozers), livestock trailers, and massive boats. It’s especially ideal for commercial use, handling industrial machinery, oversized freight, and even some mobile homes, making it a powerhouse for extreme towing needs.

The Ram 1500 Ramcharger will be available in 2025, while the Ram 1500 REV is slated for release in 2026.
