The Jeep Grand Cherokee has a sleek, modern, and muscular style. There’s lots of cargo space, and even more luxurious features are standard than with the new model. The trim levels from the year before will return, and you can choose between Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, or Summit Reserve trims. Here’s some more information about these versions of the new Grand Cherokee.
When you shop for a new SUV in Carmel, New York, consider the Laredo, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s base model. It has Jeep’s seven-slot grille, a larger lower grille, angular headlights, sculpted sides, and a sculpted hood. Other standard exterior features include:
An automatic headlight leveling system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, front and rear splash guards, a power liftgate, and 18-inch wheels are optional. The Laredo X trim is similar, but 18-inch aluminum wheels and a power sunroof with a sunshade are standard.
The Laredo and the Laredo X have a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It produces 293 horsepower and 257 lb-ft of torque, and it can tow up to 6,200 pounds and carry up to 1,283 pounds. It gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, and the fuel tank can hold up to 23 gallons. The optional trailer tow package has a heavy-duty motor cooling system and a rear load-leveling suspension. The interior has a high-tech look and provides 70.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. It comes with:
You can add heated front seats, remote start, a heated steering wheel, and wireless charging. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision mitigation, hill-start assistance, lane-keeping assistance, parking sensors with automatic braking, and a rear back-up camera.
The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude has most of the features mentioned above. Rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power liftgate, and wireless charging are standard instead of optional. You’ll also get black exterior accents, leatherette or suede seats, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote start. You can add 20-inch wheels, and the engine and transmission are the same as with the Laredo and Laredo X.
The Grand Cherokee Limited comes with a variety of additional features, including memory settings and turn signals for the side mirrors, memory settings for the driver’s seat, LED fog lights, a heated steering wheel, a 10.1-inch touch screen, and heated front seats. Models with four-wheel drive have leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and a terrain-based driving mode system. You can also select an auto-dimming driver’s-side mirror, a washer for the rear back-up camera, a beige interior, and ventilated front seats.
On top of the Limited’s features, the Overland comes with power-folding side mirrors with approach lamps, ambient LED interior lighting with multiple colors, a windshield wiper de-icer, and nappa leather seats.
It doesn’t have heated side mirrors, but an auto-dimming driver’s-side mirror, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a hands-free power liftgate, ventilated front seats, and 20-inch wheels are standard. You’ll also get an adaptive air suspension system, front tow hooks, and a panoramic sunroof. You can add a 12-way power driver’s seat, memory settings for the passenger seats, back massagers for the front seats, an interactive front passenger display, and a 19-speaker audio system with a 950-watt amplifier, a 10-inch subwoofer, and active noise control.
The Trailhawk is only available with the Grand Cherokee 4xe, the hybrid version of the vehicle. It’s the best Grand Cherokee for off-road driving, and it’s efficient and environmentally friendly. It comes with an adaptive air suspension system, an electronic limited-slip differential, a stabilizer bar, power-folding side mirrors, a universal garage door opener, and hill-ascent and hill-descent control. You’ll also get an auto-dimming driver’s-side mirror, leather or suede seats, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, rough road cruise control, and a nine-speaker Alpine sound system with a subwoofer and a 506-watt amplifier.
The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged plug-in hybrid engine generates 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 6,000 pounds. Options include rock rails by Mopar, a hands-free power liftgate, and manual window shades for the second and third rows. An auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless charging, automatic emergency braking with collision mitigation, a 360-degree camera system, a head-up display, and night vision with animal and pedestrian detection are also available. You can also choose a 4xe in base Grand Cherokee, Overland, Summit, or Summit Reserve trim levels.
The Summit is near the top of the line. This trim level has a gloss black roof, oak and chrome interior accents, drowsy driver detection, and parallel and perpendicular parking assistance. Other standard features include massaging front seats, a wood-trimmed steering wheel, four-zone automatic climate control, a surround-view camera system, a washer for the rear back-up camera, nappa leather seats, a 12-way power driver’s seat, and memory settings for the passenger seats.
With the Summit Reserve trim level, you’ll get even more features. It comes with 21-inch wheels, Palermo leather seats, ventilated rear seats, a 10.25-inch passenger touch screen, and a 19-speaker audio system.
