For over a decade, automobile manufacturer Dodge hasn’t released a surprise model of its classic cars into the market. However, for car enthusiasts, the long wait may end when the company officially unveils the 2023 Dodge Hornet.

First, in 2006, Dodge showcased the Hornet concept featuring suicide rear doors and a compact footprint. In a sudden twist of events, the great economic depression prevented this concept from ever being realized in full production.

Dodge is determined to dazzle the car market and enthusiasts with the fastest SUV in 2023. Here’s what you need to know about the long-awaited Dodge SUV:

Dodge Hornet GT Interior Design

The Dodge Hornet GT: Interior Design

The interior technology of this Dodge model borrows heavily from its Italian counterpart, the Alfa Romeo Tonale. It features a digital touch-screen panel on the dashboard and the usual performance gauges behind the steering wheel. The steering wheel designs are similar, except that the start/stop button for this 2023 Dodge SUV is located in the center console. Although the Dodge Hornet GT has exterior air vents, they’re square and not round like in the Alfa Romeo.

Regarding entertainment, the Dodge Hornet GT offers nothing but the best. Brace yourself for an infotainment system with a 10-inch Android-backed display. Moreover, the sound system is top-notch due to a 465-watt subwoofer. You can pair the auto entertainment system with your smartphone, allowing you to enjoy music, videos, and other media at your convenience.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT also features built-in Amazon Alexa connectivity. This unique system allows you to wirelessly charge your phone or even start the car if you’re within range.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT also features inspiring designs for the seats, armrests, and interior accessories. This model comes with perforated leather seats bearing a Dodge Rhombi logo. The seats and armrests have distinctive colors that match the car’s interior.

Also, this Dodge model has built-in heating systems in the steering wheel and seat covers to guarantee comfort during cold weather.

To top all these incredible features, the 2023 Dodge Hornet GT features a huge cargo area with a whopping 27 cubic feet of space to store your luggage and other items.

The Dodge Hornet GT: Exterior Design

If the Alfa Romeo Tonale’s exterior is the benchmark, the 2023 Dodge Hornet GT is going to turn heads wherever it goes.

This model features a muscular fascia complemented by heat extractors on the hood. As a result, you’re assured of maximum indoor comfort as you hit the road.

It’s also equipped with an unrivaled  lighting system. This includes a full-width light bar, LED daytime lighting, and sleek headlights for night driving.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT features standard 17-inch wheels for comfort on the road. In addition, your new look SUV has alloy rims and state-of-the-art mirror caps. The rims go a long way to boost wheel performance and provide impact resistance if you hit a pothole.

Finally, Dodge is famous   for some of the most elegant colors on the market. So, as you anticipate the new model, watch out for inspiring exterior colors, including the following:

  • Gray Cray.
  • Q Ball.
  • Acapulco Gold.
  • Blue Steele.
  • Hot Tamale.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT: Driver-Assistance Safety Features

The state-of-the-art security features show that Dodge regarded safety as a priority in the 2023 SUV model.

You can look forward to advanced driver-assistance features like the following:

  • Automatic emergency braking.
  • Pedestrian detection.
  • Parking sensors.
  • Blind-spot monitoring systems.
  • Lane departure warnings.

You can also switch to the Tech Security package that offers additional autonomous control while on the road. Top features include traffic jam assistance, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign detection, and lane-centering.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT: Engine Performance

All Dodge Hornet models are powered by a high-performance transverse engine, emphasizing speed and fuel efficiency.

However, unlike the Dodge Hornet R/T plug-in hybrid model, the Dodge Hornet GT has an exclusive gasoline engine compatible with standard all-wheel drive.

As expected, the 2-liter Hurricane engine has four cylinders conforming to an in-line arrangement that provides more than 265 horsepower to propel the car forward.

In addition to the engine thrust, the Dodge Hornet GT incorporates an automatic gearbox capable of clocking a speed of 60 mph in 6 seconds.

The 2023 Dodge GT also stands out among other models because of added features to boost engine efficiency.

Additional exclusive features were added to enhance this model’s engine performance, including the following:

  • Intelligent braking.
  • Four-piston front brakes.
  • Selective damping shocks.
  • Dynamic torque vectoring.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT: Expected Cost

Dodge may hit the ground running with one of the most pocket-friendly prices for an SUV at about $30,000. Therefore, if you’re looking forward to a new ride in 2023, this budget-friendly price tag will help you seal the deal.

Does Dodge Offer A Warranty?

Dodge understands that you may require technical support soon after leaving the showroom. For this reason, all the new Hornet models have a maintenance warranty.

Specifically, the Hornet GT model has a three-year limited warranty. However, extended warranties are also available from selected dealers at fair prices. Pay us a visit at the Meadowland of Carmel dealership in New York for offers on warranty extensions.

Order and Delivery

Dodge is already accepting orders for the long-awaited SUV model, with an estimated 14,000  buyers already in the order queue. If you haven’t placed your order yet, it may be time to book a slot on the buyers’ list. If you want to get your hands on this incredible new model, visit us at Meadowland of Carmel in New York, and we’ll help you get a new Hornet  GT.

The Dodge is undoubtedly returning to the SUV market with its class-exclusive inventions. The year 2023 presents exciting options for the company’s products: the Hornet GT or R/T models.

However, the Hornet GT is the preferred choice for most Dodge lovers. The estimated price is $10,000 lower than the hybrid model. So, if you’re keen on saving a few dollars, you won’t regret choosing this SUV.

In addition, the interior design guarantees extra comfort while driving. The heated steering wheel and leather seats, unique seat design, wireless connectivity, and a clear user interface display are sure to make your drive a pleasure.

Dodge guarantees your safety via driver-assistance features like artificial braking and pedestrian detection. Please contact us  today to inquire about placing your order.

Aside from your home, your car is often the most important investment you will make. Not only is it one of the more expensive items you may own, but you probably also depend on it for your and your family’s livelihood. Therefore, it’s important to keep your car in good working order.

While every vehicle requires the occasional pricey repair, keeping up with maintenance can make a world of difference in the day-to-day performance of your car and how much money needs to be spent on its condition. Although this is important, regular maintenance and servicing can also improve your and your passengers’ safety and even increase your vehicle’s value and lifespan. Here in New York State, annual inspections are compulsory. Let’s look more in-depth at the many important reasons to keep up with your car’s regular service and maintenance.

Service DepartmentSearch Inventory

It Improves Safety

One of the biggest reasons for ensuring your vehicle is always in good shape is that a well-maintained car is significantly safer to drive than an infrequently serviced car. According to the American Safety Council, when you maintain the condition of your brakes, windshield, lights, tires, mirrors, oil, and other basic elements, you reduce the chances of ending up in an emergency that could have been avoided.

Giving the proper attention to preventive maintenance ensures that you’ll have plenty of visibility and control during your drives, as seemingly small issues such as a cracked windshield or squeaky brakes can potentially cause injury or even death in the case of an unexpected event. After all, you want your vehicle to behave as expected, even in unpredictable circumstances that are out of your control.

It Reduces Expensive Repairs

In addition to keeping your passengers safe, regular maintenance can reduce the likelihood that you will need to make costly repairs. Though servicing your car regularly may feel like an unnecessary expense, it can be even worse to find yourself paying for an expensive repair due to a deterioration in its condition, especially if it’s a used vehicle or its factory warranty has expired.

Plus, if your car breaks down, obtaining a replacement vehicle can cost even more while you wait for the repairs to be completed. Therefore, maintain your car’s oil, brakes, and battery in good working order since it’s well worth the investment upfront.

It Increases the Value

One benefit of vehicle upkeep that’s often overlooked is that a well-maintained vehicle has a greater value than one in poorer condition, particularly if you’re planning on reselling or trading in your car in the future. Dealerships or general buyers don’t just consider the make and model of your car when valuing their potential purchase; the condition is also a major factor.

In addition to general wear and tear, major repairs in your car’s past can significantly reduce its overall value. So, regular maintenance can help prevent unnecessary repairs and significantly enhance the value of your car in case you decide to resell it. If you’re located in Carmel, New York, or the surrounding areas, feel free to review the value of your car for a trade-in offer via our online tool to get an idea of what your car is worth in its current condition.

It Enhances Daily Performance

Even if you don’t plan on reselling your car in the near future, regular service and maintenance can improve its daily performance and enhance your safety on the road. After all, the benefits of maintenance and upkeep aren’t meant exclusively to increase your car’s value for resale. You’ll experience the immediate effects of maintaining its condition in your daily driving routine.

Keeping up with your vehicle’s servicing can increase your car’s safety, affordability, and reliability. For example, ensuring that your car is in good shape improves fuel efficiency. Clean oil increases the reliability of your car’s engine. Additionally, you’ll spend less on fuel and avoid lower gas mileage by timeously sorting out any leaks.

Another basic form of maintenance is ensuring that your car’s tires remain in good condition by rotating them regularly. Not only does this improve the safety of your vehicle by giving you better steering control, but it also prevents your tires from wearing out unevenly and requiring costly replacements. Regular maintenance can provide you with a reliable daily driving experience that you wouldn’t get with a car in poor condition.

It Extends the Lifespan of Your Car

Regular maintenance can ensure that your vehicle performs optimally for years to come. Keeping your car in good condition can save you hefty expenses in the long run by avoiding the need to purchase a new car when your current one deteriorates. Plus, a well-maintained older car often has much greater resale value than a poorly maintained newer car.

Therefore, whether you intend to be the sole driver of your car or whether you plan to resell it or trade it in, your vehicle’s lifespan can be extended by servicing it regularly, making it an excellent long-term investment.

Vehicle lights are simple but vital parts of any internal combustion, mild hybrid, hybrid, or electric vehicle. No civilian car, truck, or SUV may be legally driven on America’s roadways without these lights installed and in good working order. We’ll cover all the details on different light positions, types, common issues, costs, and more for your convenience.

Vehicle Lights by Unit Type and Position

Jeep Wrangler Front Lights

Vehicle lights vary in type, number, and position depending on the model year of the vehicle in question. All vehicles have head and taillights, but some also have fog lights, spotlights, daytime running lights, and side mirror signal lights. We’ll review what each set is for below.

Headlights and Front Signal Lights

These are the front-facing primary lights on any vehicle. They’re almost always white lamps or bulb lights, but they can be more compact and bright LED units. Some are single lamps, but on most newer vehicles, they’re multi-lamp units when they aren’t LED. They’re usually high on either side of the front grille or above it. Some SUVs and pickup trucks have larger headlight setups to cover the full distance from the front bumper to the hood area.

Taillights and Rear Signal Lights

These are the rear-facing primary lights on vehicles. They’re always red, as American law dictates, and set on either side of the rear trunk, hatch, or tailgate. Sometimes they’re small units, but some SUVs and trucks have far larger ones that go up their hatch sides or tailgate sides, respectively.

Fog Lights

These units are usually smaller than headlights and positioned below them on either side of the grille or below it, depending on the vehicle. They have a far wider and brighter light pattern, making them ideal for cutting through foggy or rainy conditions. This helps to increase drivers’ road visibility. They can be found on any civilian vehicle type but are most seen on SUVs and trucks.

Spotlights

These are probably the rarest lights on our list. They tend to be restricted to mid to high-trim SUVs or pickup trucks and are usually mounted next to the driver’s side mirror. They are the most powerful light source that can be standard equipment on normal vehicles, ideal for lighting up work areas or searching for items in the dark.

Daytime Running Lights

These are among the newest light options installed on cars, trucks, or SUVs. They are meant to catch the attention of other drivers during the day, alerting them to the existence and position of the vehicle using them. Some daytime running light units are integrated into headlight units, while others are separate. Some electric vehicles have creative and beautiful daytime running light setups. Expect them to get more interesting as time goes on.

Side-Mirror Turn Signal Lights

Many larger vehicles, especially trucks and SUVs, come with side-mirror-mounted turn signals. These blink simultaneously with the rear turn signal lights and increase the odds that drivers and pedestrians within sight will notice the vehicle turning.

Common Light Unit Issues and Standard Life Spans

Vehicle lights can be compromised in many ways, most repairable through simple maintenance. The most common reasons for light failure include loose wires, bad grounds, corrosion, bulb failure, electrical opens, electrical shorts, a failed switch, or a failed relay. Servicing these issues is almost always quick and simple, so schedule service with us when your lights go out. Our service professionals will deduce the source of the failure and replace components accordingly.

The average standard headlight life span runs from 500 to 1,000 running hours on the lower end to over 30,000 running hours on the higher end. LED headlights tend to land in the middle of that range. Taillights of the standard bulb variety last approximately five to six years, while their LED counterparts can last more than 12 years. Headlights should be changed in pairs regardless of the condition of the operating light. This ensures that the bulbs or diodes will wear down simultaneously, avoiding uneven, blurry, or limited lighting effects.

Fog lights should be replaced every 12 years. Spotlights tend to last longer. They could run for over 12 years because they’re rarely used. Daytime running lights should be replaced every 10,000 hours, but some newer units can last the entire running life of the vehicle. Side mirror signal lights should be replaced every 4,000 hours.

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram Light Replacement Costs

The lighting units installed on Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles are among the most recognizable and classic in the industry, but their internal technology has been advancing steadily. One of the most well-known unit types is the standard 7-inch round Jeep headlight. This is a bright headlight you’ve seen on Jeeps since their earliest wartime days. Their main advantage is their broad lighting field.

The average Jeep headlight costs around $100 in parts and labor. Ram trucks often have projector beam headlights. These lights are built to minimize any blinding impact on other drivers. Their headlights cost around $110 in parts and labor. Chrysler has an extremely varied range of headlight models. They tend to cost around $150 to replace because their layouts are more complex, meant to convey a merging of luxury, style, and function.

The price of Dodge headlights varies. The standard units cost around $100 in parts and labor, while the largest versions can cost over $300. Depending on the unit, taillights cost between $100 and $300, while fog lights cost around $150 to replace. Daytime running lights cost between $60 and $250. The more complex their patterns are, the more expensive they tend to be.

Meadowland of Carmel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram can handle any light issue your vehicle might have. Schedule service with us when the time comes, and we’ll be happy to either replace your units with identical ones or install more powerful or efficient versions.

In 1963, Andy Williams released a popular holiday song that describes Christmas as “the most wonderful time of the year.” At Meadowland of Carmel, we agree and especially appreciate the verse from the song that describes “parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting, and caroling out in the snow; there’ll be scary ghost stories, and tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago.” There’s something special about being part of Christmas festivities and the great traditions handed down in the Carmel area for generations.

In the holiday spirit of giving, we’d like to share some of the Christmas festivities in Carmel, NY, during the holidays of 2022, and invite you to join in the celebrations with hearts “glowing when loved ones are near.”
