Car AC recharge

Is the Air Conditioning going or does it just need an AC Recharge?

If you find that your vehicle's air conditioner isn't cooling properly or working as it should, it can be because of a wide range of issues, from a low refrigerant charge to a damaged component that needs to be replaced. So, how do you determine whether your AC needs more refrigerant or a major repair? Let's find out in this helpful guide. Search Inventory Service Department Schedule Service Image via Flickr by nan palmero | CC by 2.0 How Does Your Car's Air-Conditioning System Work? To produce cold air, your vehicle's air-conditioner uses a compressor to pressurize and circulate refrigerant through the system. It consists of two sides: a low-pressure side and a high-pressure side. The refrigerant comes into the low-pressure side as gas and turns into a liquid on the high-pressure side. Its constant movement between these two sides of the system is what keeps the cabin of your car cool. Since it's pressurized, your vehicle's air-conditioning system can only work properly if it's completely sealed. Similar to other pressurized systems, it's capable of developing leaks over time. If left unattended, a leak may cause the system to lose so much refrigerant that it won't produce cool air anymore. When the refrigerant and pressure levels of your AC drop too low, you have to recharge it with a pressurized refrigerant to restore it to normal function. What Are the Signs Indicating Your Car's Air-Conditioner Needs More Refrigerant? Recharging your vehicle's air conditioner is a task best left to professionals. However, you don't need a trained eye to know that your system is low on refrigerant. Below are a few signs indicating it may be time to visit a service center for an AC recharge: Warm Air If you find that the air coming out of your car's air-conditioning system is noticeably warmer than usual, it may mean that the refrigerant level has dropped to an inadequate level. As mentioned earlier, your AC keeps your cabin cool by circulating pressurized refrigerant. When it's running low on refrigerant, it'll experience a decline in cooling performance. AC Clutch Unable to Engage When you set the AC control to maximum coldness, you'll hear a clicking sound coming from your air-conditioning system. This signifies that the clutch is engaging and the system is functioning correctly. The clutch starts to engage when it receives a signal from the pressure switch, which uses a sensor to monitor the pressure level of the system. If the pressure level is too low, the pressure switch won't activate, and therefore, the clutch will fail to engage. Without an involved clutch, your AC won't be able to circulate even the lowest amount of refrigerant, meaning it'll stop working altogether. Visible Signs of Refrigerant Leaks Visible signs of refrigerant leakage are another indication that your vehicle's air conditioner needs a recharge. If you notice a greasy film on any of the components or fittings of your AC system or a pool of refrigerant underneath your car, a leak has likely developed. If you don't fix the leak promptly, your air-conditioner will keep losing refrigerant until it no longer functions. What Happens During an Air-Conditioner Recharge? The process of recharging a car air-conditioning system begins with the technician checking the refrigerant and pressure levels of the AC system. If the system is just a little low on refrigerant, they can locate the leak right away. However, if the refrigerant is too low or completely gone, they may have to add refrigerant before they start looking for the leak. Once the leak is found, the technician will flush out the old refrigerant and fix the leak before refilling the air-conditioner with the new refrigerant. Without evacuating the refrigerant, it won't be possible to determine the correct amount to add to the system. Suppose the refrigerant system has been opened or one or more of its components changed. In that case, the technician will use a vacuum pump to remove all the atmospheric air and pressure from the system before recharging it. The entire process can take a few hours. When you need to recharge your car's air-conditioning system, it's essential to have the procedure done at a reputable auto service facility using a specialized AC recharge kit. An inexperienced mechanic may add more refrigerant instead of evacuating the system and finding and repairing the leak first. Modern car air-conditioners are pretty intolerant of excess refrigerant. So, adding an 8-ounce can when only a couple of ounces are needed can cause damage to the system. How to Tell If Your Car's Air-Conditioner Needs to be Repaired or Replaced? Refilling the refrigerant in your vehicle's air conditioner is standard auto maintenance. While it requires you to make a trip to the service center, it doesn't necessarily indicate your system is broken and needs a major repair or part replacement. However, you have to keep an eye out for certain signs that may point to more severe car A C problems, such as: No air-conditioning: If your car's AC system isn't blowing out any air at all, it can mean that it has entirely run out of refrigerant and may need an AC Recharge. However, it's also possible to have damaged cooling fans, a faulty compressor or condenser, or an electrical issue. Water stains inside your car: After running your AC system for a while, you'll see water draining out from the bottom of your vehicle, which is perfectly normal. Nonetheless, if you find water stains on your front floor mats, you may have a damaged or clogged drain that causes the water to back up into your vehicle. Rattling sound: A variety of problems can cause your air-conditioner to emit a rattling sound, from debris clogging up the system to a broken fan belt or condenser. If you hear this sound, immediately take your car to a service center for a diagnosis. If you own a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, or Fiat vehicle in Carmel, New York, you can get top-quality car air-conditioning services at Meadowland of Carmel. The 37-foot tall figure features a Buddha seated in a lotus position while seated on a lotus flower. The statue is surrounded by 10,000 small Buddhas sitting on a grandstand and different forms of Buddhist art. Chuang Yeng translates to "Majestically Adorned" in English. The monastery is well named with all of its statuary, traditional Chinese architecture in the style of the Tang Dynasty, and beautiful landscaping. The monastery is open to the public, but visitors need to follow the posted rules and not wander into restricted areas where the monks live. Always be respectful, as the monastery is a quiet reflection for both the monks and the visitors. It's open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily between April and January. Fahnestock State Park Fahnestock State Park, named for Clarence Fahnestock, is a 14,086-acre park located on Route 301 in Carmel, New York, and is part of the Hudson Highlands. The park has 80 campsites and an area set aside for RV camping, but there are no hookups or a dump station. However, showers and restroom facilities are within easy reach of all RV and tent locations. It's also not for those who fear heights, as there are safety barriers but no glass in the tower to prevent someone from leaning out. Something to keep in mind about the tower is that it's open to anyone, including people who want to leave their graffiti tags behind. Some of the images may not be suitable for younger eyes. Oil Changes Carmel, NY

When you own a car, truck, or SUV, it's important to get routine maintenance to keep it operating at its best. Routine maintenance like check-ups and oil changes help to improve performance and minimize damage when you drive your vehicle, which can help you save big. If you have questions about oil changes, including why they are important and what they entail, this guide can help you understand their value and why it's so important to change your vehicle's oil on schedule. If you need an oil change, use our online service scheduler to set up an appointment at your earliest convenience. Schedule Service Today The Importance of Consistent Oil Changes Regular oil changes are important to maintain your vehicle and help it operate at its best. Failure to do so can result in overheating, knocking off the engine, or total engine damage. You might be worried that it's an expensive and time-consuming endeavor, but that's far from the truth. Most car dealers offer complimentary oil replacements, and they take 30 minutes or less. There are many benefits to completing oil changes along your scheduled mileage levels, including: Improved Performance: When your oil and oil filter is changed, it removes contaminants from your vehicle's oil lines. This allows it to operate more efficiently. In addition, your engine will work at its best, delivering improved power and performance every time you hit the gas. Higher Fuel Economy: Improved engine efficiency will lead to better fuel economy. This means more miles in between stops at the pump, which can quickly add to significant savings on fuel costs. Cleaner Operation: You aren't the only one who can benefit from the more efficient operation that comes from regularly changing your oil. The contaminants that decrease your performance also contribute to the hydrocarbons released when you run your engine. Changing your oil makes your vehicle run more cleanly and reduces your carbon footprint. Engine Protection: Your engine is your vehicle's most important component and often the most expensive to repair if it experiences difficulties. Keeping your oil changed regularly reduces the wear and tear on your engine in order to avoid engine repair and replacement. A well-protected engine can save you significant money by staying on the road and out of the shop. What to Expect From Your Professional Oil Change A professional oil change involves more than simply adding fresh oil to your vehicle. When you get a professional oil change at Meadowland of Carmel, our staff will provide the following services: Oil Changes: As the name implies, a key component of any oil change is replacing all the oil currently in your vehicle. Our service professionals will drain your current oil and safely dispose of it before refilling your reservoir with fresh oil. While topping off your existing oil can help to refill, if you aren't replacing the oil completely in accordance with your mileage recommendation, it can lead to buildup and debris that harms your engine and lowers performance levels. Filter Changes: The oil isn't the only thing that gets changed out when you take your vehicle in for an oil change with Meadowland of Carmel, however. Replacing your oil filter is another important step in helping your engine run more cleanly. A dirty filter cannot clean your oil as effectively as intended, leading to additional build up in your engine. When our service professionals install a fresh, premium auto filter, you can be confident your engine is receiving the protection it deserves. Leak Repair: Another benefit of choosing professional oil change service from Meadowland of Carmel is our inspection of the lines in your oil system. The 2021 Chrysler 300 image via Chrysler.com Thanks to its impressive constellation of safety features, the 2021 Chrysler 300 is among the safest sedans on the road today. One of the most eye-catching safety features is a full-speed forward-collision warning system with active emergency braking. The full-speed portion is what is most important here. Most similar systems don't work at full speed, but should you lose control behind the wheel for any reason, this well-engineered sedan will stop itself for you and do its best to avoid forward collision in the process. The 2021 Chrysler 300 also comes with LaneSense lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with automatic stopping, and a blind-spot monitoring alert system. Four trim levels are available: the SRT, Luxury Series, 300S, and Limited versions. Your 2021 Chrysler 300 will be powered by one of two powerful engines. The first option is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine granting 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The second is a 5.7-liter V-8 providing 363 horsepower and 294 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come tied to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Its entertainment features include SiriusXM satellite radio, a two-piece shark-fin antenna set for superior signal quality, a set of six speakers that can be upgraded to premium Alpine versions, and voice-activated radio. It also comes with LED-illuminated cup holders for ease of use. The 2021 Dodge RAM 1500 The 2021 Dodge RAM 1500 landed the coveted Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. So did the 2019 and 2020 versions, so you can be sure this vehicle will be solid in occupant safety. Its impressive cluster of safety features includes pedestrian emergency braking for parking lot navigation, a forward-collision warning system with active emergency braking, adaptive LED projector headlights for maximum visibility, and a blind-spot monitoring system. Other safety features include electronic stability and traction systems with advanced anti-roll features, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system for maximum visibility. The second is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine providing 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The third is a 5.7-liter version producing 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The fourth and final engine is a massive 6.2-liter version generating 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Every version of the 2021 RAM 1500 comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The available trim levels are the Tradesman, Big Horn, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX. The 2021 Dodge Durango The Dodge Durango is one of the most well-known and well-loved SUVs in the history of the company. Its safety features are a primary reason for that. They include rear child safety locks, the ParkSense front and rear parking safety sensor system, a ParkView rear-view backup camera, and adaptive cruise control with a stopping function. This last system maintains the set speed when the road ahead is clear but automatically adjusts to changing traffic conditions and braking as needed. Other safety features include a blind-spot monitoring and alert system, electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, and rear cross-path alert. The braking system features rain brake support, which activates enough wiper to clear water from the braking area. The 2021 Dodge Durango comes with a long list of interesting interior features. The 2021 RAM 1500 can tow up to 8,700 pounds and carry up to 1,924 pounds with occupants. Front and rear cup holder sets are standard. The 2021 Jeep Cherokee The 2021 Jeep Cherokee is one of the most well-recognized vehicles in terms of safety in the Jeep lineup. Its safety features include a full-speed forward-collision warning system with active emergency braking. What Ram Trucks are Best for Connecticut Drivers?

When you decide that you want to get a truck, it's essential that you choose the right one. You need to consider what you'll primarily use the truck for and how much you want to spend. For example, someone who mostly needs to run errands around town doesn't need the same truck as someone who hauls heavy materials for work every day. If you live in Connecticut, there are some things you'll want to consider to help you choose the right Ram truck. RAM 2500 via RAM Official Website What Connecticut Drivers Likely Need in a Truck Connecticut drivers likely need something that they can use for their daily tasks, meaning they'll need a truck that has plenty of storage space both in the truck bed and on the inside. They'll also want something with plenty of power and handling for when the rougher weather arrives. There's also plenty of off-road trails available in Connecticut, so you may be looking for something that you can take on your next camping trip, for example. While everyone's needs are different, you likely don't need the most powerful truck on the market. Instead, you can sacrifice a little power in exchange for a lower price and some more interior comforts. Therefore, for the average Connecticut driver, you're looking for a Ram truck that has versatility without costing too much. The Ram 1500 The most popular Ram truck model is the 1500. The reason for its immense popularity is due in part to its versatility. The Ram 1500 is great whether you're just looking to run errands around town or you need to drive on some rougher road surfaces. The Ram 1500 Classic If you like the Ram 1500 but wish it was a little more affordable, consider the Ram 1500 Classic. There are a lot of similarities between the Ram 1500 and the Ram 1500 Classic. The most significant differences lie in a few of the performance metrics. For example, the Ram 1500 Classic cannot tow or haul as much as the Ram 1500, with a maximum towing capacity of 10,680 pounds. In addition, the Ram 1500 Classic is a little less fuel-efficient than the Ram 1500, getting around 17 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. However, the Ram 1500 Classic still comes with plenty of features that Connecticut drivers are sure to love. For example, with this model, you'll still get a luxurious and spacious interior for both the driver and the passengers. You'll also get plenty of advanced safety features and a touchscreen infotainment system. Therefore, if you want something a little more essential than the Ram 1500, and want to save money in the process, then the Ram 1500 Classic is a great option to consider. The Ram 2500 For those Connecticut drivers who need a little more power than the Ram 1500 has to offer, there's the Ram 2500. This truck comes with a V8 engine that produces 410 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This combines to provide a max payload capacity of 3,130 lbs and a towing capacity of up to 15,040 lbs. It also comes standard with four-wheel drive, making it ideal whether you're taking it off-roading or we get one of our infamous Connecticut snowstorms. Safety Systems The Ram 1500 has the honor of winning the Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for the last three years and is the only repeat winner in its class. It did so by offering a suite of driver-assist systems that use radar and optical sensors to monitor your Ram 1500's surroundings. These systems include forward collision warning with active braking that scans the way ahead and alerts you to potential hazards. Should you fail to react in time, this system will engage emergency braking to help mitigate or avoid a possible accident. In addition, the emergency pedestrian braking system works with the forward collision warning system and can detect when a pedestrian enters the roadway. A blind-spot monitoring system uses sensors to alert you when a vehicle enters your blind spots, helping you change lanes safely. The rear cross-path detection system uses similar technology to notify you when vehicles approach you from either side while you back up. Adaptive cruise control with stop and go enables you to maintain a preset speed and distance while driving in traffic. This system slows your Ram 1500 down as the traffic slows before you, even to a complete stop. Then, when the way ahead clears, it returns you to your preset speed and distance. This helps reduce driver fatigue, especially on longer commutes. The LaneSense system uses cameras mounted high on your Ram's windshield to track your truck while driving within marked lanes. The system alerts you when it detects an unintentional drift and can provide gentle steering correction to return you to your lane. Ram's park assist system enables you to find parking spaces your truck will fit into and guide you into them. The system works in parallel and perpendicular parking spaces. Simply activate the system and follow the prompts to brake or accelerate while the system steers for you. At Meadowland of Carmel, we understand and support our local healthcare workers. Your commitment to caring for our friends and family hasn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated.
