Several types of fluid keep your vehicle safe on the road. Fluids ensure the engine is cooled and lubricated. They operate the hydraulic brake and power steering systems, ensuring your transmission shifts flawlessly. Some fluids require periodic topping off, while low levels of other fluids indicate likely problems. Check your owner's manual for recommended fluid replacement times. Car owners should monitor fluid levels, helping to flag potential issues and keep their vehicle's systems operating safely. Follow your owner's manual or your mechanic's recommended service schedules. If needed, schedule a service today with Meadowland of Carmel. Vital Fluids to Monitor step 5 by Robert Couse-Baker is licensed with CC BY 2.0 Lacking the necessary levels of fluids such as coolant, motor oil, and transmission fluid can cause extensive damage. Check fluids regularly during gas fill-ups or oil changes to ensure that levels are in operating range and are not contaminated. Watch for any suspicious leaks or smells. Motor Oil Your oil should be light-to-medium brown and changed approximately every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, but always consult the owner's manual. Synthetic motor oil and high-quality oil filters last for more miles. Oil will get darker as it gets old. Ensure it's within the normal operating range since the engine doesn't receive proper lubrication if the oil is too low. If it's low or looks bad, check for leaks and determine if your vehicle is past due for service. An oil change is typically an express service at a service department such as Meadowland of Carmel. Coolant The coolant is bright green or pink depending on the formulation used and is suitable for up to 100,000 miles depending on the manufacturer's recommended replacement schedules. Top off with a 50-50 ratio of coolant to water, or use a pre-mixed coolant that matches your vehicle's requirements. Watch for leaks from the hoses, water pump, or engine block. While checking at home, remember that fluid is dangerous for pets. Low coolant can cause overheating and significant engine damage. Automatic Transmission Fluid Automatic transmission fluid has a reddish tone and an oil-like texture and may need to be topped off occasionally. Darker colors, odd smells, and low levels may indicate a fluid and filter flush is past due or that there are other issues. Low fluid levels can cause shifting problems, overheating, or damage to the transmission. Transmission service frequency is recommended in the owner's manual and includes a fluid flush and a new filter. Brake Fluid This fluid is a light yellow-brown color, with low levels usually indicative of brake wear or a leak in the brake system. Brake fluid replacement intervals should be available in the owner's manual. This service replaces old fluid, helping prolong the life of the brake system. Power Steering Fluid Power steering fluid has a yellow-brown color and requires periodic topping off. Low levels may indicate leaking seals or hoses, leading to steering difficulty and damage to the power steering pump. Windshield Washer Fluid Windshield washer fluid is water-like and comes in various colors, commonly blue. Options include summer blends that must be used up before cold weather arrives since they may freeze. Washer fluid requires regular filling depending on how often the windshield washer is used. Fluid Mishaps: What Are the Remedies? Sometimes mistakes happen when fluids are being topped off or refilled. Depending on which fluid was mistakenly added, this may not cause problems, or it could require flushing and replacement with the proper fluid. Below are some common mistakes and their implications: Motor oil should match the specifications in the owner's manual. Switching brands has little effect, but switching viscosity like adding 10W-30 instead of 5W-20 alters the oil's lubricating properties. Adding synthetic oil to conventional motor oil doesn't cause any harm as long as the viscosity ratings match, but it doesn't offer any benefits. Remedy: One quart of mismatched viscosity oil shouldn't cause issues, but improper oil can be fixed with a prompt oil-and-filter change. Anything other than motor oil added to the oil requires an immediate oil-and-filter change and consulting a mechanic in case engine flushing is necessary. Engine coolant should generally be mixed with water at a 50-50 ratio unless it's pre-mixed. Too much water in the coolant makes it susceptible to freezing in cold weather or boiling over on a hot day. Remedy: A coolant flush may be required if many coolants were improperly added or a different fluid was added by accident. Otherwise, adding some straight coolant can even out the required 50-50 ratio with water. Automatic transmission fluid must match the manufacturer's required specifications, such as Mopar ATF+4. Improper transmission fluid can cause poor lubrication, overheating, poor performance or clunking noises, or transmission failure. Adding motor oil or brake fluid to the transmission can cause severe damage. Remedy: A quick transmission fluid flush and filter replacement can fix this issue as long as it's done quickly. Let your mechanic know about the issue, as extra transmission cleaning may be necessary. Brake fluid is a specialty hydraulic fluid that can't be replaced with power steering fluid. Improper fluid can damage seals and hydraulic components and lead to brake performance issues. Remedy: Brake fluid flush service, recommended at specific times by most owners' manuals, can replace contaminated or old brake fluid and preserve the components. Washer fluid cleans the windshield and removes bugs and other debris. Summer fluid works well for cleaning but will freeze and cause damage to the tank and components. Water doesn't clean well. Substituting household cleaners with ammonia can leave residue, damage the car's finish, and allow potentially harmful odors to get into the car. Remedy: It's relatively easy to drain or remove contaminated washer fluid. If accessible, remove the hose off the bottom of the reservoir and take off the reservoir cap to allow the fluid to drain. Another method is to dilute the contaminated fluid with a cup of hot water and remove the old fluid with a turkey baster or siphon. Consult Meadowland of Carmel Regularly checking your vehicle's fluids is a crucial way to prevent damage and, over time, gives you a sense of how the fluids should look. Monitoring the levels is essential, but following recommended fluid replacement schedules is another way to make your vehicle last longer. Meadowland of Carmel can monitor your vehicle's fluid levels, replacing old fluids and fixing leaks at its fully equipped service center. Factory-certified technicians have expert knowledge of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, and Fiat vehicles and a large inventory of OEM Mopar parts. What Models of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAMs Will Be Electric Vehicles?
If you thought we'd seen the end of Chrysler, think again. Far from ready for retirement, the brand is enjoying a renaissance, and it couldn't have come soon enough. As Chrysler undergoes a unique evolution, the brand offers high-tech products to its customers with an all-new, all-electric lineup set to roll out by 2028. Brand CEO Chris Feuell recently lifted the lid on Chrysler's evolution at MotorTrend's 2022 CES show, revealing numerous plans for the future. These include revamping existing models and rolling out entirely new ones, emphasizing electricity and sustainability. From all-EV models to souped-up muscle cars and the transformation of the minivan, there's a lot to get excited about. Dodge, Jeep, and Ram also have several new electric offerings on the horizon for car-buyers to enjoy. Read on to see what these impressive electric plans include for customers. EV Models Chrysler Chrysler is developing the STLA Large electric vehicle platform on which their new, fully EV design and other upcoming models will be built. While they revealed the shiny new Chrysler Airflow Concept at CES, it seems to be at least two more years before their first fully electric vehicle hits the road. It's also unclear if the Airflow Concept will ever become a reality, with neither its production nor name confirmed. It seems likely, though, that the first Chrysler EV will mirror the design and aesthetic of the Airflow Concept to some extent. Borrowing from the design of the Airflow Concept, Chrysler's new EV SUV is likely to boast a 118-kWh battery pack. If that proves the case, it would also have a range between 350 and 400 miles. That said, a range of as much as 500 miles could be achievable for STLA Large platform vehicles. Despite the promises of new models, Chrysler is behind the times when releasing their EV. The trick now is creating genuinely new Chryslers. On the upside, we can expect real differentiation when these new models roll out for customers to see and enjoy. Long since known as a minivan brand, you're likely wondering what the transition to EV will mean for Chrysler, as rising SUV sales overshadow sales of the Pacifica, despite it being the only plug-in hybrid minivan currently available. While sales may have slowed, it would seem there's no way Chrysler is doing away with their beloved minivans. The family favorite will be transitioning into the EV age along with the SUV model. As with the newly designed fully EV SUV, Chrysler is doing more with the minivan than simply giving it an electric engine. Instead, it will enjoy a fresh, new design that will appeal to a broader market. While no specifics are forthcoming about what to expect from the new minivan, the popularity and saleability of the Pacifica mean it's likely to be around for a while yet. As for the Chrysler 300, it seems a next-gen version of the sedan is unlikely as Chrysler focuses on SUVs. The carmaker looks to roll out the first Airflow-esque full EV as soon as possible, with one or two electric SUVs arriving from Chrysler by 2028. These would likely be mid-sized SUVs, based on the capabilities of the STLA Large. There may also be a two- and three-row version of the same car model, similar to how Jeep has handled the new Grand Cherokee. RAM Also on the horizon alongside the EV lineup are hydrogen-powered vehicles. The company rolled out a new hydrogen-powered Peugeot e-Expert last year, along with the Opel Vivaro. By 2025, customers may be able to expect a full-sized Ram Promaster that's hydrogen-powered. Late 2023 should see the appearance of a Ram ProMaster van, fully capable of beating out competitive models from many other popular brands across the EV spectrum. It seems the Ram will also be able to rival other brands' EV offerings in terms of towing, range, charging time, and payload. While the hydrogen initiatives are being fueled by technology partner Faurecia, these may only be available as a fleet offering. An extension of this is set to be heavy-duty trucks and powertrains, both powered by hydrogen. Dodge With both the Dodge Challenger and Charger set to retire in 2024, a new muscle EV is in the works. 2024 is set to mark the replacement of Dodge cars with a beefed-up EV muscle car. Also, due to being built on STLA Large frame, it's possible Dodge's muscly new model will combine two motors to create an 800+ horsepower EV. Jeep Jeep has revealed the first of their fully electric models, set to be launched in early 2023 across Europe. The as yet unnamed model is part of the brand's long-term strategy to ensure all their European sales are complete electric by 2026. The unveiling of the new Jeep is a demonstration of how all Stellantis brands that don't already have fully electric models will be rapidly brought up to speed through the creation of new EV offerings. While the details of the first Jeep EV have yet to be finalized, the model is expected to be a little below the Jeep Renegade in size. In style, it marks the evolution of the trademark chunky Jeep style into something a little more contemporary, the trademark grille of the brand being closed off while the windscreen is shallower and more aerodynamic. For those who love the familiar car models, it's certainly good news, as it seems Stellantis is dedicated to ushering all brands into the age of EV. Charging Stations Near Carmel If you're toying with the idea of investing in a new EV yourself but are concerned charging would be an inconvenience, there are several EV charging stations in and around the Carmel area, including EVgo Charging Station in Carmel's Putnam Plaza Shopping Center and an Electrify America Charging Station in Newburgh.

What are tire rotations good for?
With the onset of summer in New York, you can't wait to travel to all the destinations on your season's to-do list with your friends and family. You may have achieved your summer body goals, and you can't wait to flaunt your abs, curves, or fit body, but what about your other travel companion, your vehicle? Your tires are a vital part of your vehicle that requires checking and maintenance. You don't want to experience any mishaps while driving around the city or any inconveniences to your summer plans. Scheduling your vehicle for tire rotation and maintenance with your dealership will ensure that your tires last longer and achieve optimal vehicle performance and road safety. Our experts at Meadowland of Carmel, New York, explain tire rotation activities from tire balancing to tire alignment, why they are essential, and signs to detect them. Tire Rotations Tire rotation refers to switching your tires from one position to another in distinct patterns to wear more evenly and extend their tread life. Auto technicians take out each wheel and place it in a different spot on the vehicle. For example, they can take out your front left wheel and place it in the rear right position. Front tires may wear out faster than rear tires since they absorb additional friction when turning your wheels. How Often Should You Schedule Tire Rotation? Experts recommend a tire rotation every six months after driving 6,000 to 8,000 miles or whenever you get an oil change. However, tire rotation frequency also depends on whether your vehicle is front, rear, or all-wheel. You can also assess your tires' treads for uneven wear to predict your next tire rotation. As always, refer to your vehicle manufacturer's manual for the rotation frequency of your tires. Tire Alignment Image via Pixabay Tire alignment involves a mechanical adjustment of your vehicle's suspension to influence the direction and angle of the tires' contact with the road surface. Tire alignment improves vehicle handling and keeps your vehicle from pulling in one direction or vibrating strangely on the road. The manufacturer sets every vehicle's optimum tire alignment, so your car's settings must align with what the manufacturer's manual states. How Often Should You Schedule Tire Alignment? There is no specific time frame for your tires to get an alignment. However, tire manufacturers recommend that you shouldn't exceed three years without a tire alignment. Various factors can contribute to tire misalignment, including driving on Carmel's bumpy or rough terrains. So, to ensure you avoid any misalignment, you can schedule an alignment inspection every time you go for your routine vehicle servicing. Indicators of Tire Misalignment The following are signs of tire misalignment: Drifting or pulling the car to one side of the road. When driving on a straight or flat surface, you shouldn't have to steer in the opposite direction to keep the car straight. If your car pulls to one side, either left or right, it may indicate that your tires are misaligned. Off-center steering wheel. Your steering wheel should always be centered, even after taking sharp turns or parking at tight spots. However, if you notice that the steering wheel doesn't return to its normal centered position afterward, it may be time to schedule a tire alignment. Uneven tire wear. If you notice that the inner and outer edges are wearing out faster than the rest of the tread, it can be due to misalignment. This uneven wear indicates your tires are leaning too much to one side, causing the outer and inner edges to wear unevenly. Vibrating steering wheel. If you detect a vibrating steering wheel while driving, it may be due to sudden disruptions to your vehicle's suspension, such as hitting a pothole or a raised surface like a curb. Whatever the cause may be, visiting your dealership for routine assessment is recommended since these vibrations can also signify a more significant and more serious issue. Tire Balancing Tire balancing involves inspecting your vehicle's weight distribution on your tires and wheel parts. This procedure eliminates uneven points on your tires to ensure that you have smooth and comfortable rides. Auto technicians perform tire balancing through a match mounting process which involves matching the high and low areas in your rims with the tires. When Should You Take Your Vehicle for Tire Balancing? Tire balancing is not a routine service. Therefore, you should schedule a tire balancing appointment when you notice certain things while driving, such as seat vibrations. Also, you may require tire balancing if you notice that your steering wheel, floorboard, and seat shake or vibrate while you drive especially fast. Uneven tire wear across your tire tread can also signify that your vehicle requires tire balancing. Why You Shouldn't Neglect Tire Maintenance Neglecting tire maintenance risks your road safety and other road users. Here are the issues that you may experience as a result of neglecting each tire maintenance activity: Tire tread wear: Your vehicle tire tread may wear unevenly, thus creating a rough and potentially unstable driving surface. Premature tire tread wear may cause heat buildup and an increased risk of punctures and blowouts. Tire misalignment: Tire misalignment affects steering, suspension, and safety. Neglecting your tire alignment routine can pose a collision risk if you find yourself in an emergency, such as making a sharp turn to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Tire imbalance: Unbalanced tires can wobble or bounce up and down, which causes vibration when driving. It may cause vehicle instability, eventually damaging your tires, suspension system, and steering system. Any of these issues can be costly to repair. Schedule Your Tire Rotation and Maintenance at Meadowland of Carmel, New York If you detect either of the mentioned signs above while driving around Carmel, it may indicate that you need to schedule tire rotation, balancing, or alignment at your dealership. You may also schedule routine checks and servicing to avoid other problems. Are you looking for an auto dealership to service your vehicle around Carmel? Then look no further. Is Your Driving Style Hurting Your Fuel Efficiency?
You may already know that there are nearly endless ways to protect your vehicle from damage and maximize the efficiency of your ride. But did you know that the fuel type you select can also influence your vehicle's performance? If you want to make the most out of your ride and keep it running at its best for a long time, it's important to understand which type of fuel you should use and how your driving can affect your car's fuel economy. At Meadowland of Carmel, we want to make sure that your vehicle can always take you where you need to go. Read on to learn more about the different gas types and to determine how you can preserve your investment in a quality new or used vehicle. How Does Your Driving Style Affect Your Vehicle's Fuel Efficiency? There are a few ways that your driving can affect your vehicle's fuel efficiency. Some driving behaviors that can require more fuel include accelerating frequently, idling often, braking heavily, and driving at high speeds. You can also burn through fuel more quickly by carrying or towing extremely heavy loads. Generally, the harder your vehicle works, the more fuel it'll use. Your vehicle's fuel consumption can also depend on the amount and type of trips you take. Since you use a good amount of gasoline to start your engine, taking a collection of short trips where you turn the vehicle on and off can use more fuel than if you took one long trip without stopping, consider planning your drives with this in mind. Another way you can save on fuel is by limiting the amount of driving you do. Routinely using different types of transportation like walking, biking, or taking public transportation can save you some gas money for your most important trips. These options are great for shorter trips around town. Finally, a well-maintained vehicle can always run more efficiently than one that doesn't receive regular service. This is because your qualified mechanic can diagnose and fix any small issues with your vehicle before they become big problems. They can also determine if your vehicle is running at its most efficient and offer fixes if it isn't. To optimize your vehicle's power and performance, schedule service with our highly trained technicians today. What Are the Various Types of Fuel? You will typically see several fuel types at the pump. The commonly used regular fuel option is 87 octane. Octane refers to the stability of fuel or the amount of pressure at which the fuel will combust. Mid-grade gasoline offers around 89 octane, and premium fuel falls between 91 and 93 octane. If your vehicle has a diesel engine, which uses compressed air rather than a spark plug to ignite, you can also select specialty diesel fuel. How Do You Know Which Fuel To Use? The best way to determine which fuel to use is to check the user's manual for your vehicle. In your manual, you can find the minimum octane rating for your vehicle. If your ride requires premium fuel, the manual will say that. If not, there's no reason to select any gasoline other than the lowest-priced option. While your manual should have this information, you can also find it near the vehicle's gas cap or fuel gauge. You can always contact our certified service department if you have questions or are unsure about your vehicle's required fuel rating. Why Do Some Vehicles Require Higher Octane Fuel? If you've selected a vehicle with a high-output engine, it may need premium gasoline to work effectively. These powerful engines require a higher compression ratio, meaning they compress air and fuel into smaller, highly combustible sizes. With the added pressure and heat associated with high compression, you may need a fuel type that can stand extra pressure before igniting. Without it, you risk the engine igniting prematurely, negatively affecting your vehicle's performance. What Happens if You Put the Wrong Type of Fuel in Your Vehicle? You can rest assured that using the wrong grade of gasoline won't destroy your ride. However, it can create some negative consequences and diminish your vehicle's performance. If you want to keep your vehicle on the road for as long as possible, always use the proper grade. However, if you have a diesel engine, do not use gasoline; regular gas will ruin a diesel engine. If you accidentally put gasoline in your diesel vehicle, don't start it or turn if off immediately if you already have, and have it towed to a mechanic immediately. If your vehicle requires only the lowest fuel grade, a higher octane option shouldn't create any negative effects besides costing more money. If you use gasoline with too low octane, though, this can limit your power and efficiency. Since octane refers to the pressure at which gas can combust, lower octane fuels may not handle exceptionally high pressure as well as premium options. Luckily, modern vehicles have a sensor that can retune an engine to avoid premature ignition, limiting lasting damage. Still, it's a good idea to determine your vehicle's exact fuel needs before filling up. Does the Type of Fuel Affect a Vehicle's MPG Rating? As long as you use the proper gasoline for your vehicle, you shouldn't notice an effect on your vehicle's gas efficiency rating. The miles per gallon will not increase if you purchase a higher octane fuel. If you use a lower octane rating than required, your ride can, unfortunately, demonstrate diminished performance that can result in lower efficiency. Be sure to know which level is best for your vehicle before fueling up. If you'd like to upgrade your fuel efficiency rating, you can select a vehicle (and fuel) with a diesel engine. We want you to get the most out of your new or used vehicle at Meadowland of Carmel. Understanding which fuel to use is a great way to keep your ride in its best shape. To maximize the efficiency of your drive, be sure to browse our extensive collection of new vehicles and impressive pre-owned offerings to find one that meets your fuel economy needs. We can't wait to help you find a ride that exceeds all your expectations for efficiency, power, and drivability.

Why did fuzzy dice become popular in cars?
Some car owners like to customize their vehicles by adding decorations to them. Drivers have achieved this through bumper and window stickers, car decals, or rearview mirror decorations. One of the most popular mirror decorations back in the day was fuzzy dice. Most drivers had a pair of fuzzy dice in their vehicles because they were trendy at the time and wanted to personalize their ride. Let's take a look at the origin of fuzzy dice and what made them so popular. The Origin of Fuzzy Dice Most people aren't aware of the origin of fuzzy dice or how the trend started. Sometimes it seems fuzzy dice just popped up in cars back in the day and suddenly became a trend. However, there are some theories about the origin of these popular rearview mirror decorations. One of the most common of these theories dates back to World War II. Pilots during the war would put lucky trinkets in their aircraft to keep them safe. While these items varied, pilots often used gambling pieces, such as chips and dice, because they were tokens of good luck. The idea was that if these gaming pieces could help you win some money, they might protect you as well. Following World War II, using dice as a decoration continued as a tradition. Eventually, people started hanging fuzzy dice on their rearview mirrors as it was a sign of luck. Many people started doing this trend, which is when fuzzy dice became extremely popular. When Were Fuzzy Dice Most Popular? Although carrying dice in your car started right after World War II, the height of this trend was from the 1950s through the 1980s. Drivers saw fuzzy dice as good luck tokens, but they also became a way to decorate cars. Fuzzy dice came in a variety of colors, sizes, and styles. Whether you wanted to look cool, cute, or stylish, you could find some fuzzy dice to match your style. It was fashionable to place the pair of fuzzy dice around the rearview mirror. After living through a war, young folks wanted the freedom to be themselves, which they could do by customizing their rides. Fuzzy dice allowed these people to practice individualism. Most people had a pair of fuzzy dice hanging in their rearview mirrors. Some drivers used fuzzy dice to signal that they were skilled drivers who drove in races. Whether you used fuzzy dice to deck out your drive, to fit in with the crowd, or show off your driving skills, these decorations were all the rage. Are Fuzzy Dice Still Popular Today? Whether fuzzy dice are still popular today is up to debate. The fuzzy dice trend started to fizzle out in the 1990s. People began viewing fuzzy dice as cheesy instead of cool, which led to their decline in popularity. From the '90s and on, many people wouldn't consider fuzzy dice popular. However, there are some fuzzy dice lovers who still use these decorations despite them being widely viewed as uncool. On the other hand, some trends have a way of coming back in style. In the 21st century, there are few people who use fuzzy dice as decorations. Some stragglers remain, but most people opt for more modern decorations. That said, as the younger generations rediscover trends of the past, you may see fuzzy dice reappear in cars. Keep an eye out, they may come back in style some day. Unique Items Drivers Like To Hang From Rearview Mirrors Whether or not you think fuzzy dice are cool, there are many other unique items that you can hang from your rearview mirror. Some drivers think fuzzy dice are distracting or that they reduce visibility while driving, so it's understandable why you'd want to find some other options. You may prefer to hang items from the rearview mirror, but you could also opt to put some decor on your dashboard. Nowadays, there are many ways you can personalize the look of your ride. If you're interested in putting something around your rearview mirror, then it's important to find an item that's able to hang. For example, you could hang a meaningful necklace or locket around your mirror. Another option is to attach a picture of a loved one on a chain and put it in your car. People who've graduated high school or college often hang their graduation or honors tassels around their rearview mirrors. Here are some other things you might like to hang in your vehicle: Lanyards. Air fresheners. Beads. Mirror charms. Ornaments. Bandanas. Headphones. Dangers of Hanging Items From Rearview Mirrors While many people love hanging different kinds of decorations from their rearview mirrors, it can pose some dangers. Namely, they can block some of your view while driving. Typically, it's not safe to drive with something like fuzzy dice obstructing your view. At the very least, mirror decorations can be road hazards, but in the worst scenario, they could cause accidents. Some states have made it illegal to hang fuzzy dice and other large items from your rearview mirror. This is simply a safety precaution that could prevent collisions from happening. While the decoration itself isn't illegal, it's the obstructed view that's discouraged. If you want to hang dice or other items in your car, check your state's laws to see whether it's allowed. In New York, there's an obstructed view law that states drivers can't operate cars with obstructed views. Therefore, it may be illegal to hang objects, such as fuzzy dice, on your rearview mirror in the state of New York. Fuzzy dice were some of the most popular car decorations that almost everyone had. Although they're less common now, they may come back as a retro trend. Whether you're using fuzzy dice for a token of good luck or you're decorating your car, it's easy to see the appeal of these fun, yet cheesy, car decorations. Durango Interior The Durango 's spacious interior can accommodate seven people, but this drops to six if you choose second-row captain's chairs. The base setup features cloth upholstery. Leather upholstery, heated first- and second-row seats, and a heated steering wheel are available as you move up through the trim ladder. All three rows of seating are roomy and suitable for adult occupants. In addition, you'll find around 17 cubic feet of storage space behind the third row. As you can see, the Durango's cabin provides plenty of space for you to add accessories and create your own personal space. The possibilities range from practical additions to stand-out design touches aimed at producing your chosen look. Before we get into looking at specific accessories, you'll want to keep the Dodge Durango's trim levels in mind. There are five trims available for 2022, and they each feature important interior differences. For example, the top two trims, the Citadel and SRT 392 have second-row captain's chairs instead of the bench seat. They also have a sunroof, which you could consider accessorizing with a flashy sunshade. Floor Mats and Cargo Liners Floor mats made from rubber or plastic can be a great addition to your vehicle, especially if you want to protect the cabin from the day-to-day adventures your Durango is involved in. For example, floor mats can stop the cabin from getting dirty during a camping trip or soak up grime from the worksite or your latest outdoor activity. Similar products are available for lining your cargo area. These liners are a great way to prevent your vehicle from getting damaged when you load up with DIY supplies. They can also soak up spillages, whether of paint, water, or anything else. These mats and cargo liners aren't just about utility. You can also purchase floor mats or seat coverings to create a specific style or feel. For example, can you imagine how luxurious it would be to sink into a sheepskin seat covering or rest your feet on a rug for the floor? Steering Wheels and Shift Nobs You don't have to stick to the standard steering wheel offered in the Durango. Various styles of steering wheels are available to help you achieve your chosen look. Flat-bottomed steering wheels are especially popular among drivers seeking to achieve a sporty or racing feel. For those searching for a more luxurious cabin, a leather-wrapped steering wheel can give your car an added touch of comfort during long drives or the daily commute to work. A similarly wide selection of styles is on offer for your shift nob. Some drivers prefer to get their hands on one with a wooden finish to create an upscale feel in the cabin. Sunshades Sunshades are a great addition to your cabin to help passengers relax while you're on the road. If you do a lot of driving during the day, especially in the summer months, the passengers in your second and third rows will thank you for installing them. This Durango accessory is available in different styles and materials. The more affordable sunshade accessories are made with plastic, while higher quality materials are also offered. Whichever type of sunshade you opt for, you can be confident that this Durango accessory will be measured to fit your vehicle perfectly. Seats The standard seats in the Dodge Durango feature cloth upholstery, but there are many other options for you to consider. You can accessorize by opting for leather upholstery or heated and ventilated seats. Different seat styles are also available. For instance, sport seats provide additional support for the driver and the lucky front-seat passenger. They're a particularly popular option if you plan on doing some off-roading since they provide occupants with a more secure feel when the terrain gets rough. Rear-row passengers can also benefit from seat accessories. Seats with improved suspension or the option to recline for optimal relaxation are available for the 2022 Durango. Off-Roading Accessories Many of the most important off-roading accessories are for your vehicle's exterior. These include improved suspension, mudguards, and all-terrain tires. But there are several interior features that are well worth considering. Seat coverings can provide you with additional padding and protect your upholstery from the dirt or debris that you and your passengers inadvertently bring into your SUV. Designer gauges for your dash can help you monitor your Durango's performance in style as you take on a trail or head off the beaten track. Organizers To take full advantage of the Dodge Durango's roomy cabin, you may want to consider purchasing an organizer for your cargo compartment or under the dash. Dodge Charger Interior Accessories You Must Try
The Dodge Charger is a large sedan with plenty of power. If you opt for the supercharged V-8 engine, you'll almost feel like you're on the racetrack. This car has a lot to offer, including a spacious cabin. If you're thinking about how to customize your cabin to give it a unique twist, we've got some ideas for you. Our team at Meadowland of Carmel has put together some of the most popular interior accessories for your 2022 Dodge Charger. Dodge Charger Interior Before we get down to how you can outfit your vehicle, it's worth looking at the Charger 's interior. This two-row sedan provides ample room up front and in the rear for adult passengers, including plenty of room for three people to fit on the second-row bench. The trunk measures approximately 16 cubic feet, enough for several suitcases or plenty of shopping bags. You should also keep the Charger's trim lineup, which includes some unique interior styling elements. While the base setup sticks to cloth upholstery, you can upgrade to leather with an optional package. The range-topping SRT trim aims to offer all the creature comforts you could imagine. Floor Mats and Carpets Adding floor mats to your Charger's front and rear rows can be a great way to make a design statement or keep your vehicle clean. If your primary concern is practicality, you may want to purchase all-weather mats. This beneficial accessory can soak up any dirt or debris you or your passengers bring into your Charger. However, floor mats don't have to be practical. You can opt for a classy sheepskin design or another material that maximizes comfort. There's nothing like relaxing with your feet on a cushioned floor as the revs of the Charger's engine shift your sedan to top speed. Trunk Tray To get the most out of the space in your trunk, a trunk tray can be helpful. These trays are easy to lift in or out of the trunk. They make it a lot easier to load or unload items and save you the trouble of stretching deep into the trunk to retrieve something. Trays are available in different styles. You can buy large trays with one main compartment or more complex storage devices that include drawers and shelves to help you keep small items safe. Steering Wheels Why stick with a standard steering wheel when there are so many options to give your driving experience a unique feel? You can find everything from leather-wrapped steering wheels to flat-bottomed and tilted wheels. A heated steering wheel may be what you're looking for for the ultimate in luxurious driving. The choice is similarly broad for shift nobs. You can purchase nobs with wooden or leather finishing and elaborate designs inspired by your favorite sport or hobby. Seating The seats in the base Charger have cloth upholstery, but you can accessorize them as you move up through the trims. For example, you can get memory settings for the driver's seat, heated front seats, premium cloth upholstery, and leather. When you reach the range-topping SRT trims, you can add on the heated rear and ventilated front seats. You can also accessorize your seats with a wide selection of seat coverings. These typically fall into two categories: protective coverings to keep your upholstery safe and stylish coverings to make your vehicle stand out. The first type of seat covering may be handy if you have kids and need to clean up often. The second type allows you complete freedom to determine how your seats look with animal skin coverings, suede accents, and much more. You can also purchase different types of seats to meet your needs. For example, how about a sports seat for extra support when you hit the accelerator or reclining seats for the rear row? Sunshades Adding sunshades to the rear row is a good option if you have small children who need to rest or want to give your Charger a more relaxed feel. Shades are available in a range of styles and materials. The Charger also features an optional sunroof, so you may want to buy a sunshade. Storage and Cup Holders The Dodge's generously proportioned cabin means you don't have to rely on the trunk to store things. If you want an easily accessible place to keep small items like phones, keys, and wallets, you may want to consider buying an organizer. Organizers can fit under the dash or in the central console and are designed to separate your belongings into small compartments so they're easier to find. If you're always struggling to keep your car tidy, an organizer could be just what you need. Another important item you need to keep somewhere in your car is your coffee cup or water bottle. You can install cup holders to do this job. Some of the Charger's optional packages even get you access to upholders with lights for an extra cool touch. Lighting The ambient interior lighting offered as an optional add-on throughout the trim lineup is an accessory to give your Charger's cabin a more upscale feel. You can also get an auto-dimming rearview mirror. To be even more creative, purchase floor lighting or lights for your dash.
