How to Set Up Uconnect in a RAM Vehicle Image via Flickr by truckhardware To activate the Uconnect system in your RAM truck, it may require you to register your Uconnect phone first. This step is probably necessary if your Uconnect phone is unavailable, you're having difficulty setting up Uconnect, or pairing your smartphone. Follow the simple steps below to register Uconnect for your RAM vehicle: Press the “Assist” button on the rearview mirror. Tap the “Uconnect Care” icon on the touch-screen display. Let the Uconnect Care agent know you want to register your Uconnect, and they'll handle the rest. How to Connect Your Smartphone to Uconnect After you've registered your Uconnect phone, you can pair your smartphone with the Uconnect system in your RAM truck. By doing so, you'll be able to stream music, access your favorite smartphone apps, and make phone calls from the touch screen. Take these steps to connect your phone to Uconnect: Press the “Uconnect” button on the steering wheel or touch-screen display. When the prompt appears, select “setup” and then “phone pairing.” Choose “pair a phone” when the prompt asks you what you want to do. Enter the default PIN number, which is either 0000 or the number listed in your owner's manual. Re-enter the PIN number to confirm it. Choose a name for your phone. Set your phone as the primary phone. Go to the Bluetooth menu on your phone and make sure it's enabled. Allow your phone to look for a new device. Select “Uconnect.” Enter the four-digit PIN number displayed for your Uconnect system. Troubleshooting Tips for Fixing Common Uconnect Problems Similar to other in-vehicle infotainment systems, the Uconnect system may occasionally experience certain problems that can prevent it from operating smoothly. Below are the solutions to some of the common issues that Uconnect users face: What Should I Do When My Uconnect System Freezes Up? One of the most common problems with Uconnect is the system may freeze occasionally. When this happens, you'll get a black screen that doesn't respond to any input, making it impossible for you to control the climate control, audio system, navigation, or other important functions. A common way to fix this problem is by resetting the system. Follow these steps to reset your Uconnect system: Press and hold down the buttons on the volume and tuner knobs simultaneously. Keep holding for 10 to 20 seconds. The infotainment screen should flash “RAM” and then go dark again. Moments later, the vehicle brand name will reappear and the system will start again. After that, the screen will return to the main menu. Note that these resetting instructions are for Uconnect 8.4. Depending on the model year of your RAM truck, you may have a different version of Uconnect. In this case, refer to the instructions in your owner's manual. Aside from fixing system freeze-ups, resetting your Uconnect can also be an effective way to troubleshoot other problems, such as slow loading, phone connectivity issues, and navigation glitches. Why Can't I Pair My Smartphone With Uconnect? The phone component of your Uconnect system enables you to enjoy hands-free, voice-activated calling and access information and entertainment on your phone. For the Uconnect phone to operate, you need to have a phone with Bluetooth compatibility. However, even if your phone is Bluetooth-enabled, you may have trouble connecting it with the Uconnect system in your RAM vehicle. One reason for this is that your phone isn't compatible with Uconnect. The best way to find out if your phone is compatible is to get in touch with a Uconnect Care agent. Also, check your phone to make sure it has the right Bluetooth version. Uconnect only works with Hands-Free Profile Bluetooth version 0.96 or higher. The way to check your Bluetooth version may vary from one phone to another. Generally, you have to tap the “settings” icon on the main menu and then select “system info” or “phone info.” It should display the Bluetooth version of your phone. Why Can't I Use Voice Commands To Control My Uconnect Navigation System? Under normal circumstances, you should be able to control your Uconnect navigation system using voice commands. You may encounter a problem if the map on the infotainment screen isn't in the correct state and country. To fix this issue, press the “voice command” button on your steering wheel and select “change country.” Then, choose the right country and state. Alternatively, you can go to “find address” on the navigation menu and enter the correct state and country. If you own a RAM truck in the Carmel area, you can seek assistance from the friendly staff at Meadowland of Carmel if you're having trouble with your Uconnect system. We'll be happy to help you get the most out of this amazing infotainment system. Contact us via phone, email, or our contact form.

2021 Chrysler Voyager Spotlight

2021 Chrysler Voyager Spotlight

Launched as a brand-new vehicle in 2000, the Chrysler Voyager might have a familiar feel. That's because it's nearly identical to the lower trim found on the Chrysler Pacifica from previous years. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles wanted to increase the number of minivans it offered to more than just the Pacifica, so that's where the Voyager comes into play. It's even more noteworthy because the manufacturer stopped producing the Dodge Grand Caravan, making the Voyager the only choice of inexpensive minivans. Budget-conscious families in the Carmel, New York, area who want something stylish, practical, and comfortable should consider the 2021 Voyager. Impressive Exterior The 2021 Chrysler Voyager is essentially a lower-priced Pacifica minivan since it replaces the Pacifica's L and LX models. The Voyager comes in two trims (L and LX), but don't let its limited trim options deter you from checking it out. The L comes with 17-inch steel wheels with covers and heated side mirrors, while the LX adds 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic on/off headlights. You can add ambient interior lighting as well as a roof rack. Choose from six exterior colors: Billet Silver, Bright White, Brilliant Black, Granite Crystal, Ocean Blue, and Velvet Red. Spacious Interior As many as seven people can ride comfortably inside the 2021 Voyager, and no matter where people sit, they will enjoy a spacious ride. The minivan comes standard with cloth upholstery in either brown or black and second-row bench seats. Adding second-row bucket seats makes it easier for travelers to get into the rear seats. If you're driving, you'll notice that outward visibility is excellent due in part to the high seating position. The cabin is also quiet, giving you a quiet ride as long as your travelers remain subdued. It also includes third-row Stow 'n Go seats, which easily fold flat into the floor. This option is more convenient than those that require you to physically remove and then store since you don't need to find space to house them. The LX trim also provides under-floor storage in the second row. Cargo volume is an impressive 32.2 cubic feet behind the third row, and this number increases to 87.5 cubic feet of space behind the second row. If you include the space behind the front row, the minivan has a whopping 140.5 cubic feet of space. For additional comfort, the minivan has dual-zone manual climate control, but you can opt for a tri-zone automatic climate control option on the base trim and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat found in the LX trim. Opting for the Cold Weather Group package will give you a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and remote engine start. Powerful Performance You might not think a minivan has a powerful engine, but how else will it be able to transport all your passengers and cargo? The 2021 Voyager only has one engine option, but it packs plenty of power. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine produces 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It's connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Behind the wheel, you'll notice plenty of thrust so you can easily merge onto freeways, pass vehicles, and travel down the highway. Recent upgrades to its transmission gives the vehicle a smooth transition when it shifts gears. With this engine, the Voyager achieves decent gas mileage numbers due in part to the automatic stop/restart function that saves fuel while you're idling. This feature shuts down the engine when it would normally be idle, and it would automatically restart once you release your foot from the brake pedal. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Also, when properly equipped, the Voyager has a maximum towing capacity of 3,600 pounds. Premium Entertainment To keep everyone connected, every 2021 Voyager is outfitted with state-of-the-art technology features via the Uconnect 4 interface system. It comes standard with a responsive 7-inch touch-screen display, but if you prefer to use physical buttons or dials to operate the audio and temperature functions, you can access the technology that way. A 3.5-inch instrument cluster display also sits nearby. Other standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, a 12-volt outlet, a six-speaker stereo, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Those riding in the back can benefit from an available rear-seat DVD entertainment system with one overhead screen. You can also decide to add satellite radio. Stellar Safety Features Even if you're the most cautious driver, having a vehicle full of children can make it easy to become distracted. Driver aids can keep you and your travelers safe, no matter what types of distractions occur. Although the 2021 Voyager only comes standard with a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, and eight airbags including knee airbags for front occupants, it more than makes up for it with the numerous available add-on features. Both versions of the Voyager have an optional SafetyTec Group package, which includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision mitigation, parking sensors, and pedestrian detection, the last of which is a new feature for 2021. Those little ones you're transporting also benefit from impressive safety features. The minivan has four complete sets of LATCH connectors, which you'll find on the second- and third-row seats. Thanks to these impressive safety features, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Voyager a five-star overall safety rating. It also gave the vehicle a five-star rating for frontal and side crash tests. Also, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the minivan the highest rating in all six of its crash tests. Sometimes the best way to experience all a vehicle has to offer is to get behind the wheel and take it out for a drive around Carmel. If you're interested in learning more about the 2021 Voyager or want to schedule a test drive, reach out to the professionals at Meadowland of Carmel. They can answer any questions you might have about the vehicle, assist with determining the value of your trade-in vehicle if you have one, and help you drive home in the Voyager today.
