Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market

The Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market is 30 minutes northeast from Carmel at 490 Danbury Road in New Milford, Connecticut. This flea market happens every Sunday from April through December and was first started in 1976, making it a New England tradition you won’t want to miss. Every week can bring different vendors, usually over 500 of them, so you’ll have a wide range of items to look through. You can expect to find everything from vintage clothing and antiques to up-cycled items, merchandise, and unusual treasures. There are also plenty of food vendors to keep you well fed.

There are three categories of tickets to attend this market as a buyer. A Prepaid Early Buyer’s access costs $20 and lets you arrive at 5:30 a.m. to pick the vendors’ goods first. Next are the Prepaid Buyers tickets at $10 that let you come at 7 a.m. while the goods are still there and relatively un-picked through. Finally, the $3 General Admission ticket you can buy at the door from 8 a.m to 2 p.m., which is great for the shopper who doesn’t want to get up early for the first pick.

The Hunt is a little further away, over 40 minutes from Carmel. This cute boutique is located at 20 Bank Street in New Milford, Connecticut, and is open six days a week from Tuesday to Sunday. Have Breakfast at Countryside Kitchen

A good breakfast is a perfect way to start your adventure. Countryside Kitchen is in Mahopac, only about 10 minutes away from Carmel. It has a variety of unique, delicious dishes. Check out the Holy Cannoli Pancake Platter, the S’mores Waffle, or the Blazin’ Chicken and Waffles with jalapenos and buffalo sawmill sausage gravy. Pancake options include cookie dough, coconut, M&M, brownie, Nutella, pumpkin, Oreo, multi-grain, chocolate chip, maple syrup, and peanut butter. You can also order two types of pancakes on one plate.

Signature breakfast dishes include the Jammed Pancake Tower, Old-Fashioned French Toast, French Toast Bites, the Flaky Pastry, Egg Plate, the Cajun Egg, Roll Plate, and the Healthy Egg White Wrap. The Big Breakfast comes with two eggs, bacon or sausage, buttermilk pancakes, home fries, and a slice of toast. The Eggs Benny has poached eggs, Canadian bacon, home fries, and hollandaise sauce over an English muffin.

Meat lovers can’t get enough of the Pig-Pen. It’s a plate of home fries, sausage, ham, hot peppers, onions, bell peppers with chili, and cheddar cheese. The Pig Pen also comes with two eggs made you however like them. Choose the Blazin’ Buffalo plate if you want a sharp and spicy kick to start your day. It has biscuits covered in buffalo sawmill sausage gravy and jalapeno peppers. You can visit Countryside Kitchen from around 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The hours sometimes vary, and it’s closed on Mondays.

Search for Inner Peace at the Chuang Yen Monastery

Breakaway from the patterns of everyday life and find some peace at the Chuang Yen Monastery, only about 10 minutes away from Carmel Hamlet. The monastery contains a giant indoor statue of the Buddha in the Western Hemisphere. Visitors can attend regular garden parties, poetry and meditation classes, retreats, and kung fu classes. Book study classes are available if you want to learn more about the ideas behind Buddhism. Memorial tablet ceremonies are public for people who have recently lost loved ones.

You can even learn the language that the Buddha spoke, Pali. Introductory and intermediate classes are available, and they focus on learning to read the teachings of the Buddha in their original language. Dharma Discourse Talks are held regularly as well. These talks focus on developing wisdom, ending suffering through the eight-fold path, gaining a clear comprehension of Dharma, purification of mind, daily mindfulness, aspirations for peace, and more.

Walk-in meditation classes happen in the Temple of Enlightenment every Sunday at 10 a.m., and there’s a gift shop with a variety of interesting souvenirs of your choice. You can also quiet your mind by the Zen Garden or the Seven Jewel Lake.

The Carriage House Restaurant and Tavern are ideal for unwinding after the day’s adventures. It has delicious, Southern-style dishes and strong drinks. Entrees include sesame seed crusted tuna, filet mignon, New York strip steak, fish and chips, short ribs, bacon parmesan scallops, and wild Alaskan salmon. Each plate comes with two sides.

Suppose you want something you can carry with you for a quick dinner, grab one of their famous sandwiches. One reason for this is that your phone isn’t compatible with Uconnect. The best way to find out if your phone is compatible is to get in touch with a Uconnect Care agent.

Also, check your phone to make sure it has the right Bluetooth version. Uconnect only works with Hands-Free Profile Bluetooth version 0.96 or higher. The way to check your Bluetooth version may vary from one phone to another. Generally, you have to tap the “settings” icon on the main menu and then select “system info” or “phone info.” It should display the Bluetooth version of your phone.

Why Can’t I Use Voice Commands To Control My Uconnect Navigation System?

Under normal circumstances, you should be able to control your Uconnect navigation system using voice commands. You may encounter a problem if the map on the infotainment screen isn’t in the correct state and country.

Launched as a brand-new vehicle in 2000, the Chrysler Voyager might have a familiar feel. That’s because it’s nearly identical to the lower trim found on the Chrysler Pacifica from previous years. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles wanted to increase the number of minivans it offered to more than just the Pacifica, so that’s where the Voyager comes into play. It’s even more noteworthy because the manufacturer stopped producing the Dodge Grand Caravan, making the Voyager the only choice of inexpensive minivans. Budget-conscious families in the Carmel, New York, area who want something stylish, practical, and comfortable should consider the 2021 Voyager.

Impressive Exterior

The 2021 Chrysler Voyager is essentially a lower-priced Pacifica minivan since it replaces the Pacifica’s L and LX models. The Voyager comes in two trims (L and LX), but don’t let its limited trim options deter you from checking it out. The L comes with 17-inch steel wheels with covers and heated side mirrors, while the LX adds 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic on/off headlights. For additional comfort, the minivan has dual-zone manual climate control, but you can opt for a tri-zone automatic climate control option on the base trim and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat found in the LX trim. Opting for the Cold Weather Group package will give you a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and remote engine start.

Powerful Performance

You might not think a minivan has a powerful engine, but how else will it be able to transport all your passengers and cargo? The 2021 Voyager only has one engine option, but it packs plenty of power. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine produces 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Behind the wheel, you’ll notice plenty of thrust so you can easily merge onto freeways, pass vehicles, and travel down the highway. Recent upgrades to its transmission gives the vehicle a smooth transition when it shifts gears.

With this engine, the Voyager achieves decent gas mileage numbers due in part to the automatic stop/restart function that saves fuel while you’re idling. This feature shuts down the engine when it would normally be idle, and it would automatically restart once you release your foot from the brake pedal. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Also, when properly equipped, the Voyager has a maximum towing capacity of 3,600 pounds.

Premium Entertainment

To keep everyone connected, every 2021 Voyager is outfitted with state-of-the-art technology features via the Uconnect 4 interface system. It comes standard with a responsive 7-inch touch-screen display, but if you prefer to use physical buttons or dials to operate the audio and temperature functions, you can access the technology that way. A 3.5-inch instrument cluster display also sits nearby.

Other standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, a 12-volt outlet, a six-speaker stereo, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. It also gave the vehicle a five-star rating for frontal and side crash tests. Also, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the minivan the highest rating in all six of its crash tests.
